Jared Stancombe was born and raised in the small town of Heltonville, Indiana and graduated from Bedford North Lawrence High School in 2005. He comes from a long line of union laborers who worked at General Motors in Bedford. As a former analyst with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, proud AmeriCorps alum, and humanitarian aid worker who has worked in Africa and India, Jared brings a much-needed young, innovative, and results-oriented perspective on issues important to Hoosiers. Jared wants to lead by example and be a voice for every Hoosier who feels out of the loop on how our state is governed. We need young people in government who understand the issues and have experience working with the most vulnerable people in our society. Politics should not be reserved for older generations and those better off.
We need leaders who will solve problems while exercising Hoosier values.
“This gentleman is already a dynamic and committed public servant. I’m very excited to see what he is capable of inside of office to benefit the communities he will be serving. ” – Christy Trasher, AmeriCorps member with United Against Opioids and Monroe County resident.
“Good Luck Jared! You’re gonna make so many awful politicians cry in debates.” – Kevin Varkey, StartingBloc Social Innovation Fellow currently teaching in South Korea.
